Light switches
No candles and torches for muggles. No sir! They have come up with ingenious ways to light their homes and buildings. They have harnessed the power of electricity and use it to turn on things called light bulbs that show a bright light and light up the room or area. They have these everywhere. Even on cars! Most every light bulb is turned on by means of light switches. These interesting little devices are a lever, that is usually placed inside a square piece of plastic and attached to a wall. When you flip the switch the light comes on, steady and bright. Flip it again and it goes off. They come in all different kinds, and even some have small computers in them to tell when a person is near and they turn on all by themselves! Almost like magic of course.
Without a doubt the lighting that muggles use is superior to our own, too bad it won't work in most areas of heavy magic like Hogwarts. With these lights that the muggles use they don't have to have fuel for torches or oil lamps. And they save a ton of money on candles! In fact, most muggles keep candles in their homes, not to light them, but because they smell nice. It is true that hundreds of years ago muggles lit their homes and buildings much like we do, with torches and candles and oil lamps, however they found ways around it to eliminate some of the problem in true muggle fashion. With all of the different types of lights and light switches a muggle can have just about any type they want.

How are muggle lights better than our own? Do you think a muggle could survive well with only candles, torches and oil lamps?
